[Music] hello everyone and welcome to ready VIP I'm your host Emanuel class and joining me on our fifth and first Milestone episode is one of our founding fathers Chris King and our very special VIP pachy keing oh my gosh VIP I love it but yeah thank you so much for having me and um I'm really excited to talk to you guys it's gonna be a lot of fun thank you so much for coming we really appreciate it we look forward to learning more all about you and thanks everybody for being here yeah let's let's do it I'm excited to have you both here today this is be an interesting segment uh to have Chris on because typically I drag him on here to do all of our news and announcements and catch-ups on what's going on in the app but we managed to also bring Ben seagull on for our closing section and he's going to do our news and announcements on all the amazing app updates that are coming so we can push that off till later and get to the goods right now I'm excited for that stuff too definitely and we are too because we already recorded it we're actually in the future right now amazing peachy can I call you peachy or is it peachy keen yeah yeah PE yeah whatever you feel whatever you feel like awesome so pachy tell me a little bit about yourself as a DJ you know it is so much to learn about somebody's music style and their background and where they come from but a lot of times when you go to a festival or you go to a set you don't actually get to learn a lot about the DJ you're just sitting there listening to their set and how amazing it is so this is our opportunity to you know hang out in our VIP lounge here digitally and good to know you yeah um I guess a little bit about me and like how I got started um I kind of started dejing during the pandemic for fun and then I decided to submit a mix to the Gold Rush DJ competition in 2021 we've established it was 20121 um and honestly I just kind of like did it on a wh and then I actually wasn't in the original finalist like rooll call they reached out to me a couple days before the competition and they were like hey someone actually dropped out and you're the runner up and I was like ni whoa like what's happening so I like hurried up and made a set and ended up winning the competition played the main stage of Gold Rush which was so crazy and honestly like I feel like I there's so much has happened since then um I mean this year specifically this past year 2024 I started the year playing again on one of the main stages at decadence and then I started making music I debuted two original songs at decadence last year one of them is make you sweat which actually ended up coming out almost a year later last this December um but yeah honestly like I I'm kind of in the transition from like DJ to like DJ producer Excell so I've just been having a lot of fun making music trying to find my sound I make like house music drum and bass a little bit of like techno is like techno Tech house um I don't know I grew up a bass head so I'm like a bass head at heart so all my house music tends to be like bass heavy or super dark I like to write in minor scales nice um so yeah I'm just kind of trying to find my sound right now having fun Lear a lot you're speaking uh Chris's you know music language there with house we we get into it a little bit later on in this same episode te me over my love of house music but to be fair I mean this is definitely the crew for you right it is a Bas friendly crew a bass loving crew our Rhythm loving look you know who's not here currently you know he he prefers his base it's where he lives but I can get behind some good BAS music I I love Bass music yeah it's awesome but yeah you have to mix in the house you got to give me a little bit of something to dance dance to otherwise like how do you even dance to Rhythm come on now like you feel it you do like this the whole time yeah you you literally like break your neck that's why like yeah my ne's usually pretty sore after based shows so I'll say this I mean obviously addressed in my marshmallow sweat which was my decadence day too fit uh I'm a big fan of future base right like I'm I like the bass but I also really like the Melodies that can be brought in and all the range of sounds that can be incorporated to make the symphony that we get to hear in some of these songs um and it sounds like we're talking a little bit about some artist that we like and I would love to hear about your influences and some of the artists that you like whether they influence your music directly or they're just someone that really speaks to you 100% well it's actually kind of funny don't be jealous but I want to meet and greet with marshmallow like what five or six years ago at decadence that's amazing so I actually met him I have a photo with him um I don't remember if he signed anything but it was really brief you know it was like before a set or whatever but yeah I just had to throw that out there you can't lead with don't be jealous and then immediately follow it up with met marshmallow of course I'm going to be jealous that's amazing but um but yeah so as far as Inspirations honestly like my number one inspiration and he's been my number one inspiration for since I started producing and even a little bit before that is Dr fresh um nice he is just like his energy is so contagious when he's on stage like it just like it's just so much fun and watching him is just like I always have a blast I've met him a couple times I opened up for him on his tour when he was here last year or maybe it was in 2023 but um and he's like pretty multi- genre he makes like bass house drum and bass he's has a collab with tapate B I think coming out too and he's like on playing shows with tapate B now too so um I don't know he's very inspiring and then like a lot of the the Arizona artists like beu and Blossom like big in absolutely Blossom's awesome there's awesome Blossom's awesome um yeah honestly it's so great I feel like Phoenix has a lot of talent and with the local scene as well um I'm curious what's your favorite Dr fresh song his collab with Martin hoer take a step back nice and it's kind of funny because when I met him because he so he's done a they made that track and then they did a VIP and then he did a VIP and I think there's either two or three and when I met him I was like please never stop vipingo um ghost his uh song with nostalgics nostalgics like yeah so that's a bear it it's one of my absolute uh favorites and I I love gixs uh we saw her at the sunbar we saw her at Gold brush and decadence um but that song I used to use in my story all the time on Instagram because I drink a lot of ghost energy which came up in one of our previous episodes uh and so I would always play that song as the background with me holding my ghost energy right and nostalgics would always be like I love that song I think of a ghost every time I hear it and so I we had this moment I basically screenshotted where I was like ah she cares about the ghost too um no she's another one I should have mentioned her she's another one we actually we actually went to the same artist development program nice gig it was it's online but like she's like just crushing it so yeah she's like another inspiration for sure I've been a big fan of her for a while awesome I completely agree and you know talk about a artist with a lot of musical diversity and range uh so it's a good one to she's inspiring specifically too because she does almost all of if not all of her own vocals and that's really important in like this like generation of Music producing because like anyone can go buy vocals online and whatever so it's inspired me to like work at you know do my own vocals and my tracks too definitely she just had a new song that came out today right power incredible on my story already I added it to my playlist yes so who else I I mean we got some like top contenders but is there anybody that you want to shake out of that bag of musical inspiration or any conversation around that you want to talk about because we love this stuff here already I think like it's hard for me to pick specific artists because there's so many and I kind of go through phases but feel that um I guess like like label wise like confessions um night Bas I would like I would love like basically I'm writing music to like try to get onto these because like hell yeah yeah that's like that's like the main goal I would like C die happy if I got on night base or confessions um yeah I think those are like probably like the main ones I'm trying to think of who else I've been like listening to a lot of lately um I have I've been liking drum and Basse a lot too but but I don't know if I have like any specific artist it's just kind of like whoever kind of comes on but drum and bass has been I I actually have been producing a lot of drum and Bas too I just finished a track yesterday actually awesome well that's a perfect segue to our next segment which is talking a little bit about what you have coming next and where you're going with your music that's a good question because I'm still trying to figure it out but yeah so I have a release coming out on the 22nd it's a remix um of When I Grow Up by the Pussycat Dolls and I actually made it with a friend of mine from college who's also a producer um his name is Randy Perez and it's gonna be on Soundcloud because we um fortunately are not besties with the Pussycat Dolls so we didn't get the vocal cleared so it's just a free download on Soundcloud so anyone can get it for free um and then I also have a release in April and um I'm just featured in the song it's just my vocal uh with J but um I don't know if I want to go into too many details about it yet but that's G to be released in April and then it's my goal to have a release every month this year whether it be like remix or an original or collab so just trying to like build that up right now it's G to be amazing by the time we get to December do we can we look forward to like a Christmas drop of some kind or oh like what you have like a recommendation on a christas yes yeah I'm sure this guy has one walked and loaded right now that's funny I I would honestly that's a great idea because like it's like the Christmas music that gets played the most because it's you go back to the same stuff every year yeah so give us a little twist right take that like DMX rud off The Rednosed Reindeer mess with that a bit I'm down that would be f and then I have something to start my sets off with when I play in oh my God that'd be awesome I think December is around the time I saw you at Almost Famous as well when I met you with the episode two guest wook he was nice enough to introduce us when you were playing Almost Famous the club in Scottdale yeah that was pretty recent I played I think I played that Pussycat Dolls remix there and like a couple other you're triggering some memories so yeah yeah I played a I played like a amount of originals and remixes there that was really fun I love almost it's a lot a good spot so here's my Christmas song recommendation in fact I tweeted it and exed it or I guess whatever that is now uh Instagram like threaded it and I don't do either of those things in fact this was my very first and only Instagram thread to this date but I was at Dollywood this Christmas and you know we're walking around and they play all kinds of music she's got songs with Beyonce and everything and I mean Dolly's incredible on her own but they play Dean Martin's A Marshmallow World and hearing it come that would be your pick of course it would be my pick right um and so hearing it come out of some really good speakers I was like wait a minute this song deserves an incredible remix and so I I I took the threads and I was like hey marshmallow like you're going to read my one thread the very first thread I ever threaded remix this song dude dude what the heck how have you not remixed Marshmallow World yet and so of course he absolutely did not say anything or anybody said anything he needs to be the one to remix that on he he doesn't but it's such a like listen to It remix it send it to him who knows he'll sign you yeah I was gonna say if you just put in most of the be like marshmallow cosign and just finish the end of this song for me bro he probably get the uh permission you should just send him you should just tweet or not tweet what is it threads I can't keep track you should just threads him like once every single day just continuously until he pays attention oh man you have to go find him on Blue Sky Is that what that other one's called yeah probably you know what I'll just frame the cease and desist that he sends me there you go that's yeah skip a few steps yeah wonderful well that was a fun uh little side tangent Quest that we just went on but back to the main quest which is the peachy King Quest um so in our Green Room earlier we were talking a little bit about a show that you have on the books already and Chris had mentioned something about The Afters and this is his specialty I mean once it passes 2 a.m. I turn into a vampire I got to find my coffin this guy is like full werewolf mode at that point oh come on I'm just a young wooking training uh you know W our our guest and friend you know was my uh my trainer if you would but anyways group is yeah there you go exactly exactly so every weekend right like we get in our training session and that keeps us out late so exactly The Afters are popping like it's insane here in the area right how many collectives there are how many after's programs there are and they're all amazing but now I heard that you're playing something that kind of combines with like my favorite meal of the week possibly too brunch yeah ohun I love me some brunch let's go you can't have brunch all the time but like once a week brunch is amazing if I can get up and go have the brunch with some amazing music that sounds amazing this guy wants to go after decadence to the brunch and it's like bro it's a whole new day but you sleep all day after like French toast it's awesome French toast Mimosa good good deep Basse house music to satisfy all my friends and then just nap day I'm not exactly when and where can we find you playing brunch okay so yeah so Elevate brunch house is like kind of like the collective that um does you know like the the weekend Brunch House Saturdays Sundays um and they are starting a new uh kind of event that is brunch Afters which happens right after brunch so brunch ends around like 3 or 4 and then the brunch Afters it leads right into the brunch after so it's kind of like a sunset type of thing so like afters but it's not actually like in the middle of the night it's like in the evening which is nice so you kind of get the best of both worlds but anyways um my friend cosmia who also is a mentor of mine she has helped me with a lot of the music I've made she is going to be coming down from San Diego she's headlining I'm going to be playing direct support this is happening on February 1st at sunbar so I'm really excited it's going to be a lot of fun um it's like one of the first ones that they're doing so yeah it's gonna be everyone everyone should come it's gonna be fun absolutely no it sounds like a great time and even this vampire friend of mine who can't stay out past 2 am apparently like hey bud it's kind of in the afternoon you can make it yeah you'll be fine it's before the sun even sets yeah there you go I'm here for it I'm here for it it'll be a good time I actually so I I've been seeing all these like morning Raves that people are going to or like you know like it's a two-day event but the event starts again at 6:00 a.m. and they have like and I'm here for it if I can get go get some sleep even like four hours right like you give me a little Gap and I'll be fine yeah um so I don't know if you you've probably heard of Miami music week it's like a week long party and some of the clubs literally don't close the whole week like you could buy a ticket and probably essentially stay there for a week straight As long as you don't sleep on the couch or something yeah as long as you just like stay awake but it was it was funny because last year um my phone got stolen there which wasn't really that funny but um I posted a picture on Instagram and I was actually doing a a giveaway for one of my shows and I posted a picture on Instagram of me at the club and I was like first person to guess what time it is wins guest list to my show and like you could tell it's like during the day but like it could be 6:00 am. it could be noon it could be 3 pm like so like there's everyone was guessing the time it was so funny ni it ended up being like 7:30 in the morning oh wow yeah a city that never sleeps especially when it's time to party yeah Ben's from there and like he dreams of nothing but going back to Miami and pretty much doing exactly what you described right go to all the clubs stay up all the time and then just do it all over again every single day until like all right finally it's been five days we just can't do it anymore that's when you hit the yeah that's the that I think well I was there for a week last year and I somehow made it but I did get a lot of rest during the day um it's important but yeah that five five day Mark is kind of like oh yeah for sure it's kind of you hit the wall right like uh the old Marathon running wall the wall yeah exactly but you just got to power through just keep going grab yourself you know a ghost or whatever is nearby grab a ghost plug um here's the thing uh I'm a military veteran it doesn't come up a whole lot on the cast I was reconnaissance they literally put you through sleep deprivation training they break your circadian rhythm I could I can physically go without sleep indefinitely if I had to because that's how you're trained but your brain turns to Mush after a certain point and I go to these things half for the social I want to meet people and have interesting conversations and be like I would like to meet you again in the future and you not think I'm a crazy person and so after a couple days you start saying things that you're like yes I would like to eat a light bulb today and they're like did you say light bulb and you're like I said hot dog I said hot dog right and your your brain's just it's just like Mom oh gosh I'm pretty sure though I mean some of us and definitely some of our audience go through those events to turn their brain to Mush iate Point yeah fair fair yeah yeah turn it off turn it to Mush it'll come back later it's okay it was kind of funny this week actually I pulled two all nighters because I had two tracks that I really wanted to finish it was actually last week because it was Friday came around and I had barely slept the night before and this just cuz I literally just stayed up all night making music sitting in my bed and I was supposed to get together with a friend of mine to work on another song that we had and I was like getting home from the gym and I go to unlock my door and I literally get my car key out and I'm like at my front door and then I'm like oh my God I like I have to go to sleep my brain is like not working right now I can't even believe I like driving um but anyways yeah it's just we were talking about all night airs in mush brain and I had that last week so amazing one of those I can't believe I got home stories and they're like oh yeah how much did you have to drink and you're like I was just tired just didn't have enough sleep awesome so we've got new music coming down the pipeline we've got a new pachy show coming at uh the sunbar is there anything else coming up uh for you in the near fure future that you haven't told us about or that you want people to check out or be expecting well last year in the spring I did like a peachy keing summer tour and I'm planning that again this year probably the same cities plus a couple new ones so I'm really excited about that because that was a lot of fun because I also love travel so I got to travel and like visit friends in other states that I don't see a lot and like exper like new cities that I've never been to so definitely look forward for that and if anyone's watching that is like in a city um that you want to see me at then let me know and I'll try to make that happen um but other than that like that is kind of like my main thing just getting you know more bookings out of state and you know out of the country and then just working on music just grinding on you know making the tunes making juicy beats so heck yeah yeah speaking of real quick your tour uh well I noticed there was a really cool Island uh that may have been at the end of your last tour are you doing that again cool Island last year one of my friends was having a birthday SL bachelorette party um on at at in St Martin which is literally one of my favorite places I've ever been and I would love to do that again but I don't know I don't know if I could convince someone to come with me because it's pretty expensive and like far away but I understand I'll probably try to do some sort of like a tropical beach type of set um and I do want to go back to St Martin at some point because it was just amazing just so beautiful and so much fun and The Vibes were just on point um but yeah that was that was a really fun was really I was with all my friends from college like it was just really cool that's awesome well maybe you can convince another friend to have a bachelorette party there right so that I can go play a set there yeah it's not a bad idea right on um so that takes us here into our kind of closing segment of this interview and I always like to ask an interesting question or toss out something that uh gives the listeners something to laugh at or think about or maybe do on their own and we're going to do this again later on if you're watching this so uh we're going to ask you what's on your bingo card for 2025 what's the peachy keing checklist that you would love to achieve and it doesn't have to be in music it can be in anything it could be life it could be you know the pursuit of happiness whatever you want to put on that card okay this this is the first thing that came in my head and it's also kind of funny because I just like make fun of myself for it but I just had my 30th birthday and I'm single I've been single for like ever and honestly like if I wasn't single I'm not sure I would have even like made it this far being a DJ producer because I probably would have been distracted but I don't know maybe getting a boyfriend would be cool you heard it here first folks your DMs are about to get blown up yeah good luck in the DM it's funny because like all my friends are getting married and the last wedding I went to with like all my friends literally it was like couple couple couple couple couple and then just like me a hold down so um but yeah no honestly like I also want to I besides the boyfriend thing which is kind of a joke but also kind of serious um I I really just want to like travel a ton and last year was kind of like my travel year um but I just want to travel more this year like I just want to see more experience more like meet cool people like awesome yeah it's a good goal and then for festivals specifically um I think shamba is like the next Festival that I'm like really really really want to go to that I haven't been to yet have you guys been not no in Canada oh nice and it's like a camping Forest Festival which like oh I've done camping f but I've never done like a forest Festival that's cool we have a Coconino not too far up u in Flagstaff so it's kind like that true did you go to that no a couple of my friends did but I did a lot of like um video search and coverage for it yeah I heard really good things I so that's a good one to L dream lsz oh man that lineup was fire it was fire it was fire I love like w base in the forest it's like the best combo 100% so Chris um I ask you the same question later on in the future but if you have a different answer here in the past which is actually in the future of the past dangerous time isn't linear man people think it is not yeah you can meet me in the past and the future I have proven so oh yeah goodness gracious uh honestly uh lightning and bottle I'd like to get to this year which is kind of like a new idea but wasn't that also here up north like a year or two ago lightning in a bottle I thought that was here as well and then moved back to California but no you might be thinking of desert hearts that yep I am I got them confused you are correct but both great both yeah frankly lightning and bottle is the one that came to mind but now that you corrected me and I know better now I'll take both and that was not a my answer or will be my answer in the future or if you rewind I don't know work e like wrting in a bottle is a good one um when you said that it sparked me to um Burning Man which I also really I just don't know if I'm like totally there yet on like being mentally prepared so maybe maybe 2026 bingo card so what I hear is we need a boyfriend who has been to Burning Man or is comfortable going to Burning Man perfect is ready to travel uh to support you on your summer tour as your new music and collabs start to drop oh my gosh if that person exists and they better help you get to same Martin apparently as well right like important yeah nice I love it or manifesting there you go that's what's about love that so um my bingo card is honestly I I feel like I I check off like in full grids all the time and I'm just uh I need a few less Bingo squares honestly like can I have a blank one where it's like that's a that's just a break you know you you you scratch that off when you rest no honestly if it's within the space of what we're doing right now um I would love for the opportunity to be able to do promotional material with uh more people we just recently worked on one of our first kind of mini promo materials that is like a rave Daddy ready um promo material we're going to probably debut around the same time this cast comes out and all of it was just shot with my phone impr promptu and some of the shots are incredible like the shot of Rez at um when she did the Raceway this year every time I watch that video I'm like I was I'm I'm I was on another level when I took that shot because I don't know how I got it it was perfect and so I would love for artists to come to me and say hey I want this level of coverage right like help me get these shots help me make this promo um you know I think it's a really interesting space for people to be able to capture the moment that you sell in your music you know when people hear your music and they get that feeling like this is it I'm in the moment I'm feeling the vibe I've caught that Elation well sometimes just watching a little video or seeing a little clip or just 5 Seconds of like that's when the lights hit and the music hit perfectly if you can capture that moment It's Magic and I want to be able to capture magic this year I love that so what right you want to capture lightning in a bottle yeah let's do it um so in our closing here we also have one more treat for you uh in between this segment in our next segment we're going to play a peachy keen song and we're going to play her um music videos and pictures during it so you kind of get to feel like being at a pachy keen show as we spend one of her songs and I would love for you to tell us about that song on the way out after right now oh right now okay yeah we're actually audience we're gonna cut away and you're not going to get to hear any of this it's just for me and Chris now this is The Afters click um yeah so this is one of the first songs I ever made with um the not yours DJ producer Duo Nathan and Garrett and yeah we made this song A year ago we've been honestly like picking at it like as we learned we went back in and fixed things and this and that uh but yeah we got it signed couple months ago it got released and we were trying to figure out like a theme and we were like you know make you sweat whatever like 80s workout theme would be fun so we dialed that in got the out matching outfits I choreographed dance for us and then we recorded that we had like a really fun release party where like everyone dressed up so yeah it's just been it was it was a lot of fun um you know working on this track and releasing it and the outfits are amazing thank you yeah honestly it was so fun I'm I'm big with like dressing up and just like you know having fun like I'm like an inner child so like I'm like always going to dress up and stuff so yeah it radiates fun so mission accomplished yay that's awesome so the song is called make you sweat and hopefully that's what this track does normally I tell people would you like to say roll the music but I think it might be more appropriate if you said would you like me to make you sweat would you like me she she was like hold on hold on it's okay I'm like go I'm sweating I'm sweating for all those boyfriends you just invited into your DMs a minute ago really though I'm like oh no what have I gotten myself into yeah it's all right I'll pass this one to Chris Chris would you like to say would you like me to make you me say it yeah now it's really was I supposed to say it yeah come on now I'm gonna give you back the opportunity I think you'll nail it you don't want to come to me all right would you like me to make you sweat awesome I can make you break a I can make you break aat bre break a break Bre Bre I can make you break a sweat break break I can make you break a sweat I can make you break your neck I can make you break a sweat I can make break break a sweat I can make you break a sweat break break awe hello everyone and welcome back uh to this segment in ready VIP this is our second segment of this episode in this segment I have a very special VIP with me uh one sky Lee I met at a Adventure Club concert and she had energy on a 11 and so I thought what a great opportunity to come on and talk about just the scene and how amazing it is and some of the people you meet Sky how are you doing I'm so good thank you so much for having me I appreciate it of course and is it skyly you know do you have a DJ name you want us to know just skyli for now um I sometimes go by skyli baby that's kind of just what all my friends call me um but yeah awesome so I really appreciate you being on here today we ended up meeting vicariously through a friend of ours so our episode two guest if you want to go back and listen uh Jeremy AKA wook AKA King Rave AKA our favorite uh crazy person um he had reached out to me and said man I really want to go to adventure club and I was like bro let's go and so we get there and you and uh your friend Faith were already holding down a table Yeah we actually it was funny we weren't even planning on going to Adventure Club it was super super random um we got our tickets through someone off of radiate that we had never met before okay um who we actually ended up seeing at decadence which was really cool that is awesome nothing like uh picking up some last minute tickets and Adventure Club like what a show man like I've always been into their music and played a ton of his Classics at one point he got up and said I hope you guys don't mind me playing my old [ __ ] tonight and then just like was cranking and one after the next and I love that oh me too it was so great literally and all of the openers too were throwing down as well like that was such a well-rounded show like through and through I was like there was a point I remember I think the opener uh medicine mic was on and he started playing some subtronics and oh the music completely took over me I was bowing down to him I was I remember that you were literally on the floor like uh Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure we're not worthy we're not worthy it was so good and that's exactly the energy I'm talking about so uh the story is kind of legendary for me too because I know those sunbar tables if you actually pay for them are actually pretty expensive and that spot we had you're looking straight at the DJ like all the room to dance a table to sit down and so I was like man these girls got it going on they got the spot let's go and that's actually how I met Jeremy too was we went to a DJ competition and I saw him in front of me just jamming out just like fullon head banging going nuts and I was like dude I just love your energy man and we instantly it's was like you know Step Brothers did we just become best friends um and so when I met you and Faith you had that same 11 level energy where you're just like you know the music you get into it you hear an ID and you're like that's my song yep 100% yeah and that's that's really like part of the vibe of going to these concerts and Raves and festivals is it just amps you up for life it amps you up for the moment you can really just feel like you're living literally and we honestly met Jeremy the same exact way faith and I we were at Gold Rush last year and it was or 2023 I should epic gold r as well right that it was so amazing and it was on my birthday that year too congratulations happy birthday thank you and same with Jeremy so we were like yo um and same thing he saw me in faith headbanging and then we were like oh and then we all three of us just started headbanging together didn't even know each other had the phone on the floor like going crazy and then after that like every show sense we're like where's w at it's true it's true um all that great energy and it kind of carried over to one of the reasons I brought you on which was um a there's a long history of me randomly winning uh concert tickets Festival tickets I put in for all the contests because I've already got tickets 90% of the time it's on pre-sale daddy's getting in there but the ability to just bring friends with that level of energy it always pays off it's always worth getting tickets and going I just want to surround myself with positive people and so when I put in for the contest for Franny Jay who is an incredible DJ here in Arizona um I he did a like Wheel of Fortune Spin and I won and I instantly thought man who do I give this ticket to should we give it away on the podcast should it be random like you know we got it from Franny J and then I remember Faith saying uh skyli does doesn't have a ticket for day one and so if you happen to come across a ticket let me know and I was like positive energy Vibes and so I messaged you and was like Hey free ticket and that was really kind of the last of it I didn't even see you till like day two of the festival no literally I literally super appreciate you giving me that ticket L they won a woolly set yes if that was my favorite set of all of decadence like to I it was so good start to finish he really had me too like at the start when the music was super low and like you couldn't really hear anything I was like what is going on right now like is he up there like is this happening and then he duked us out and like the big whoosh came in you knew it was about to go down but uh yeah no I really like what you're saying about just the positive energy and bringing in the community because that's really I feel like what got me into raving like you go for the music but then you stay for the community because it's just there's nothing like it um yeah so I was just so exper so grateful to experience day one that was so cool yeah and totally didn't expect to honestly run into you because you guys have that same energy as Jeremy too I'm going to this stage I got that set to go to and I'm the same way like I had it like all right from this stage to that stage I have 11 and a half seconds to hit the bathroom grab some nachos run to the back of the stage while I'm eating my nachos um and so getting to see you know woolly was like a big highlight for me uh the nostalgics um back to back with um jzer I can never say that name you know DJs I'm dyslexic it's hard enough if it's not like spelled right but when you just make a aviations I'm struggling right no there's this one artist I don't even attempt because I'm like I I'm not I know I'm going to mess it up I know man I feel that so um I was just all over the place excision to knock the day out and excision brought all the lasers and all The Wubs and all the great you know hit after hit after hit doesn't disappoint it was so cool to run into you and Claire though like like day two like I said like you said we weren't expecting it like we were searching for you guys day one um and then it was just like you said we had the whole map out we're like okay we got to go here and then you know the service at the Raceway is so bad well and that's half the like Glory of that Rave daddy app which is like the sponsor of this podcast is that it works on a back txt channel right so like even if there's no signal that's how Chris found me both days we're going to talk a little bit about about that in the next segment as I bring them on to do our decadence recap but I was just kind of like it's like Marco Polo we would move spots I'd hit the SOS I would turn my phone off put it back in my pocket and then magically Chris would come out of nowhere and be like there you are I'm like how did you find me and he's like that remember oh yeah and so he would just go and sometimes we wouldn't be there but then he'd see the next SOS and he'd like you know Leap Frog over um but it's the joy of coming together in that moment I literally I think I jumped up and down and screamed I was like yeah I think we all did right it's just when you finally find people and I was looking the whole time too you're looking around you're like I know they're here anywhere somewhere and you don't see somebody and then at like day two or the last second or you're walking in line whatever happens to be and boom the meeting it was really cool that we all got to take that group photo as well uh because a lot of times when faith and I are at the Raves we always forget to take the photo cuz we're so in the moment but it was cool to get one of us all I you know love the Polaroid by the way shout out to Faith for taking Polaroids and putting them on her like mural and stuff it was an honor to get to kind of be in that moment Uh I that was a birthday present I got for her actually and I spoiled it but now it's like it that's strapped to her every single Rave that's so great I love that and Polaroids are really cool too what a way to capture you know some hard evidence uh that we exist existed in this moment so who was your day two highlight who was the you know Moment For You Where You're Just In The Crowd Oh Zed's Dead for sure yes me too me too so had to be Z's dead baby yeah crank d uh and backtack Riot 10 for their do e dog collab was great what a great way to ring in the New Year for me but I have been waiting for Zed I like I had a curse for a while the the ZD curse where whatever show would be going on there he'd either have a conflicting time with somewhere I needed to be or I would like there was one year where day two on Gold Rush I just did not have the energy to get up I went so hard on day one I was like and here I lie for days now and so I just I've always missed them somewhere and so I was like all right I'm G to get there early I'm literally GNA just like f my way into the crowd and he did not disappoint they did not disappoint like the Tomb of the Scorpion King has always been one of my favorites there's just this crazy high-pitch tone in the middle of it that sounds like a jewel like sparkling or something and it hits so incredible life I'm just like I feel that I feel that so hard yeah when so faith and I were walking into decadence as Zed said was kind of starting um and the second that we heard the music as we were walking up we were already going hard like dancing our way into the crowd and then people were joining us and everyone was getting into it and uh it was so cool because that was also our friend we brought her for her first Rave and that being her first set of all time that's a crazy set to be at great first set I'm saying and with faith and I too like we just I I love going to shows with her because there's nothing like just dancing with your best friend and knowing she loves it just as much as I do and looking over and just seeing her like going crazy and then it makes me want to go crazy and then definitely we're all going crazy and the second that I heard um them start playing sweet memories I was like yeah I need a moment um man there's a few times in that set I was somewhere between Elation and crying like I don't when you're like all right I'm in the gym listening to my songs gets me hype you know and on the way to work listening to my songs gets me hype then you hear it live from the best speakers mankind can put and you're standing in that axis where the vibrations in the base are hitting you I I literally just I lose myself in that moment every time there's pictures of me just like cuz you know it's this next level good 100% 100% I'm with you like like I said even at a venture Club even at the smallest shows like I'll still the music will take over me and I'll be bowing to the DJ if it's good enough like I that's the one thing that I can't stand like going downtown to the clubs and stuff like when you're just bar hopping going to those shows you can tell just the difference between clubbing and raving yeah like the vibe is definitely different yeah there's nothing like raving there's nothing like a ra it's true growing up I feel like raving was what I was expecting clubs to be like because you expect the lights and the show and the production you get there and you're like is everybody just standing around looking at each other like you're the one person in the crowd getting into the music and they're like that's not how we dance here okay I'm gonna I'm gonna go over there now so speaking of bowing down to the DJs one of the other reasons and kind of our our last reason uh our last topic here was that you are a budding DJ yourself you love the scene you love the music and so now you're taking a big bold step into a new world yeah 100% I bought my deck probably about a year ago now I've been mixing and just every single time that I would go out or faith and I would go to the shows I'd be like like we went to EDC last year and we were thank you it was so good we were at um the rail for subtronics both for his headlining set and for his backtack with level up and nice every single song I was like oh this is this song with this song with this song Oh and he added this in and he's layering that he's a genius and I'm just like going crazy over it and it's so inspiring because subtronics doesn't have a music background he doesn't he a drummer who learned how to do it in rehab and Pa like my man he's our Mozart 100% he is literally just one of the most inspiring people and to see him up there like with his wife and them just DJing together and like knowing even level UPS history too like she's been DJing for so long and like I I love the way she DJs cuz she knows how to read a room oh man and knows how to feel that energy and give every single person there like what they want and I'm like oh your playlist is fire and I'm like my playlist is fire so like yeah good you have good taste thank you I love that and I do know you have good tastes in music because I have seen your your reaction to live songs and go yes that is the right reaction to this song Thank you thank you and same like it was seeing you and Claire together oh goals yeah goals you know it's funny we both grew up uh raving when we were younger and then you know life happens and you go a lot of different ways in a lot of different directions and you know shout out to marshmallow we went to a popup Marshmallow Show downtown where nightmare opened for Mar like Mamba nightmare marshmallow I was like what the hell is this lineup and the tickets were only like 20 bucks it was crazy uh it was right before this it was like the weekend of the Super Bowl marshmallow was in town and as I understand it was just like nightmare you want to do a popup and they were like let's do the popup and let's go I was like from me to this screen from the rail just in heaven being Beat to Death by some of the best songs it was the first time I heard um Nightmare and Slanders fall into me and he had just they had just put it out and I cried I was just like oh this is music this is music people and I'm somebody I go to the symphony man I go like all over my music background is that I grew up in the art community and I when I hear something I can tell you the technicality and how hard it is to make that sound or that composition or how well put together it is and we have some people who are playing with sounds and layers to music that just are on another level yeah it's crazy I I um I actually come from a choir background I like did choir my entire life and sing your own songs really yeah oh that's what got me into music and just I love just everyone harmonizing and everyone having their parts and like being able to learn about your range and other people's ranges and how to expand it and everything it's just always been so interesting to me and like you're saying there was um a moment at EDC last year when Faith had showed me this song months ago it's called it's the buzz um and I work for Better Buzz which is side not but um so she showed me that song and she was like oh like this is your song this is your song and I would go show all my co-workers and stuff and we were in the crowd at EDC and sub elonics is like oh I got one last one for you like let me bring up my wife and he brought up level up and level up level up level Tronics yes and they were up there and the second I heard the first no of their at the time their unreleased song together I was like no way tears coming through my eyes I look at Faith I'm like the buzz bro the buzz they're playing it and they had mixed it with lososa I was like a crazy and just stuff like that there's just random songs energies in the universe and they just know when the moment is to bring that out and I love experiencing that with my people hell yeah and um speaking of that uh I'm going to see you at a show very soon champagne drip right around the corner yes I'm so excited AI butterfly is a incredible song and super deep when you find out like the behind topic subject matter I'm really really hoping that he plays in my dreams yes that song oh if I hear it I'm like I think that's when all is end yeah there's a there's a couple songs I'm definitely just you're going to see me in in doing the jellyfish just cuz I'm going to be in the moment going hard definitely and I'm excited for that uh to be around that same level of energy and then uh level up right around the corner February 28th going to be at that show Marquee Theater um and then we have Cyclops desert [Music] Jinx oh hold it right there ah I know you can't see these super well on the screen but so I ordered 35 monster eyeball straws for Cyclops desert these are from 1997 and they're going to be the trinkets I give away amazing so cool and if anybody's worried about getting a used one or they have intentions to do something nefarious with it I have some in the plastic still from 1997 these things went around the world and back again too they actually went to my old address in California and I had to get my realtor to go over there like get them and send them to me but they made it that's so exciting that's so cool I hope subtronics ends up with one of those because I feel like he would really appreciate it I'll just be shaking him at him in the crowd yeah like hey just look down and see some eyeballs being shaken at him that would be amazing so I think what we're going to do is that anybody who listens to the podcast we're going to put out like a secret code word right that all they have to do is walk up and know the secret code word and get a ball straw otherwise you better bring some premium loot some premium candy a really nice hug some a level 11 intensity Vibe or something because you're not going to walk up and look at me because you know sometimes you give out Trinkets and people just look at you and you're like you got a trink it too you know the Oprah win for a trinket you get a trinket you get a trinket not these what's the password I don't know it's not the right answer that's not the password we'll find out soon I mean you'll get you'll get one anyways we're not worried about that the VIP status you're a ready VIP now you you're kind of a big deal yeah I feel like the biggest deal right now honestly awesome we got to make you a peer that says Ready VIP oh be so sick I'll have to give you guys a peer too because sick I have made a couple cool ones not to brag I am terrible at it I you know Candy I'm gonna make some nice candy you're going look at that and be like that's jewelry this isn't C pearlers man I every time I just is I grew up making them what the hell I don't know honestly I feel like my days in preschool just prepared me to be a raver because all I was doing back there was making pearlers making little beaded bracelets like little flower crowns out of like nice stuff I found like it and now look at me I'm like giving people kids and like still doing same thing I'm like I love it that is really awesome uh what's the secret what's the peer secret this will be our our our sign off here everybody will get to learn something really inside patience for sure is a huge one don't don't lose it and also um you really have to be careful with the ironing the ironing is the most important step of it all and you have to let it cool if you don't let it cool before you start like flipping it to iron then it's over this is a big go M peel it apart yeah that is awesome I appreciate the tip and next time when we bring you back and we get to interview you after your first show right and do a followup uh we can you can bring some of those pearlers on and show us what's up 100% I got you skylie thank you so much for coming on to ready VIP being our VIP being ticket recipient and just being an all-around great person oh I appreciate you so much Emanuel thank you for having me thank you for giving me the ticket and letting me experience that woolly set it was so good see that's why I knew you would appreciate it oh yeah I would start to finish I was with it trust at some point there's going to be a video I have a special woolly dance people only you have to really know me to see The Woolly dance y'all who are watching this y' don't know me like that yet maybe one day right but I have a special woolly dance it's it's silly I love it I hope I get to see it soon oh champagne drip you know I'm GNA I'll show it to you it's it's easy too it's not hard it's actually kind of fun if you get into it get three or four people doing it it's totally A vibe I'm so ready so parting shots shout outs you want to have the last word for us uh what should I say I don't know we're about to show a Ranny J music music video right after your interview so you want to say roll the music all right roll the music in the music embrace my lights need a trace neon dreams captive of the sound in this puling round Euphoria is found Euphoria is found Euphoria is found in this pingor is [Music] [Music] welcome back to segment three of what might be our longest and most elaborate ready VIP yet and joining me in this final segment of our episode are our two reoccurring top dog VIPs Ben seagull and Chris King it's great to see you and not just in all the crazy pictures you've been taking running around causing Shenanigans having a good time uh but we are going to recap what's been going on with Rave daddy who was our sponsor for ready VIP and kind of the reason we're all here and together uh and in true fe uh Rave daddy fashion it's bringing us together at that SOS Ben we've had a lot of changes uh in the app and in the Rave daddy world since our last episode in December it's a whole new year A Whole New World why don't you tell us what's going on yeah absolutely uh no lie when you say Whole New World so it's been about six weeks coming we've been working on a major update it started off as a few ideas that has just trickling into one more thing one more thing um just building on each other but we have H A version coming out it's actually in the processes of going through approval uh on the stores and so uh once it's approved U we're going to have an ad verion out and this is to support uh the opportunity for everybody to be able to hop on and enjoy Rave daddy um the intention is that we just don't want anything to do with cost to be a blocker uh We've also really set it up to make sure that uh if there's anything with the SOS of the map the ads don't pop up it's only as you're going through the home screen that there's any ads uh so we've really tried to make it um just the best of all worlds possible there's still a subscription uh if you don't want any ads so we've got that in there um but also we've been able to add background tracking uh which is uh just the ability that we can have the app in the background and still be able to monitor position and share that with your groups and then aside from that we have a whole lot of bug fixes uh as well as just really uh different tweet excuse me tweaks or adjustments to make it faster and just more performant so uh We've also been using some new tooling to make sure for battery performance as well make sure we're keeping a close eye on that so really just went into this with kind of a brand new slate and very very excited to get this out and support the community with it so uh I want to give a major shout out um we had a new engineer that joined on uh long-term friend of mine some I've worked with in the past his name's Eric uh he's been with us now since uh October and uh he's just come in and brought a wealth of knowledge done an amazing job just bringing things up and uh he's the main contributor to uh all these different features we've brought in and this new update that we've got going out so uh he he actually got to join us and be a part of decadent so super exciting there and uh yeah just very excited to get this out and and keep things rolling for 25 awesome so just to recap it sounds like we've got a free version of the app coming so that there is no pay wall we're doing this through ads and they're only going to pop up when you open up not when you need the SOS feature which is the whole reason to have the app in the first place um we've also brought on new support staff who has helped make the app faster and cleaner and more userfriendly on the back end and so we have a uh lot of progress and just a little bit of time absolutely M so you mentioned decadence which man I am bursting at the seams to talk about before this segment I got to hang out with skylie who was the recipient of our ticket we got from Franny J and we got to talk about you know some of our favorite sets and just how amazing it was and so I have been literally biting my time like B like on the edge of my seat waiting for this conversation and now it's finally here yeah you made a wait no uh not you but time uh we had an amazing experience sorry I looked over my decadent Hood's right next to me and it's just so beautiful it has an awesome gold design on the back of it it's very distracting your amazing uh Rave daddy pearler over there on Bob yeah I'm gonna grab it real quick let's do this I'm gonna grab it and you know what here I'm Gonna Change hats too here support neon yes my boy neelen episode one VIP so our buddy look Jeremy King Ray episode 2 VIP There You Go episode 2 VIP made these for us in partnership with his buddy and future rdy VIP guest yeah man I am so this is so as somebody who collects RAV loot right I have a whole like chest over here of stuff that I've got and I gave out a ton of RAV loot I gave out a ton of Trinkets and goodies yeah um and this is the nicest thing I have ever received from anybody for R stuff sobly yeah shout out to Jeremy I have to say I had an Alison Wonderland uh pler that I'm very proud of I love it I've had it for a couple years now uh but the quality on this pler I don't know how they did it but it's the Titus just like it it feels D near unbreakable it is an absolute oh it is it's approved oh yeah I so I was like I can't bring it with me I wouldn't want it to break I you know I was a head headbanger and he's like no bro I already took it to woolly we're good yeah he like tested it in everything so I'm pretty sure he has like a certification program he's going to go ahead and create for us but it's look certified at least level two certified look approved it is really really really like it I love it and um what happened was when I walked into de for the very first time which I don't know I happen to somehow be the first person in there among the group people um you know some of us who were not VIP or GA plus Platinum Ultra entry Edition um had to go through quite the maze right it was really nice but it was almost like a um pre-entry drug checkpoint or test because if you were rolling too early or if you had drank too much too early you absolutely were not going to pass this Gauntlet U because it was honestly from my hiking days it was probably 250 switchbacks um no joke uh it was worse than the Disneyland ride but we love our local event organizers and we appreciate their their Gauntlet which woke us up uh but anyways I got through security and this was bestowed upon me I was called back after rushing through the like w found me brought me back brought me over to a gentleman who helped make these who also works Ground Control ground crew security like he's very involved in the community and they stand there like close your eyes Chris like okay this is kind of scary I just got here but all right like put your head down a little bit like oh God okay a lot of people here can't be that bad and all of a sudden like this was around my neck and like like definitely like at least a single tier roll down definitely had to hold back like a river of them uh because it's just it's unbelievably kind and like I know this takes a [ __ ] ton of time and like money and just like effort and not only is it the logo it's this cppy pack on the side it makes me so happy yeah saying though is like when I ran into him when we got there uh Eric and I it was dang near like I walked up he looked like a Capa bear of Flav Flav of flave like I M he did not give it up I had three of them on at one point it was great amazing the other guys aren't here yet so go ahead and carry them around I want to tell you about the second nicest piece of Rave loot that I got uh while at decadence day two so I give out a lot of trinkets I give out a lot of runestones I give out um little gem totems that we've talked about and I'm in the crowd on day one at The Woolly set and you guys probably don't know this you might I don't think you've ever seen I have a woolly dance I have a special dance I do when I hear woolly songs please I want to see this now you know what next time we're gonna have to record me doing the woolly dance and I'll put it some of our promo it's really simple too it's easy to do uh well then why don't we get it now you can easily stand up because there's there's no woolly music playing that's the that's the Catalyst for The Woolly dance is the woolly music so anyways Wy music come out of my mouth I am if you could that would be impressive um so I'm doing my wly dance right I'm doing I'm doing I got the trunk going and the guy behind me he Taps me on the shoulder and I turn around and he goes C type or lightning and I was like what do you mean he said cype or lightning and I was like C type I mean you're talking about my phone right and he hands me a little electric fan with a c type and lightning adapter and you plug it into the bottom of your phone and it uses almost no battery but this thing kicks I was like Fanning the people around me they're passing my phone I'm like yeah get back here but this is the coolest piece of R flot I've ever got outside and instantly goes in my collection I'm taking I'm gonna like take this with me now whoever that guy was yeah um mad shout out I gave him uh one of the spirit totems you usually have to hang out with me a couple times to get one of those totems right like it's it's special ritual but I was like if you're going to give me a premium RAV loot I'm giving you a premium raval and he got a red gem bat and so I told him the story of kots the Aztec Mayan bat deity that's really cool I just I was just thinking real quick while your phone was about to be passed around you should allow your phone to be passed around just hit that SOS button first and let it run in the background with the latest version that Ben just talked about and then you'll know where it goes I I'm personally more impressed with the sheer fact that in the midst of all this and under the fluence of whatever substances fun manag to bounce back and actually understand what C type or lightning because you said c type or lightning and I'm sitting here like C type is that like a a robot is that like all sorts of different things of what C type could mean so I'm imagining like different types of totems and all sorts of things I didn't get anywhere near the adapter Port so Kudos I'm I was 100% sober man so woolly is one of my favorite artists of you know generation right now I just Vibe with his music that's why I have a woolly dance right and so this was a set it was I felt really bad for my friends too they are trying desperately to link up with me and I'm not looking at my phone I'm not nothing man because it is it's woolly time right I'm in church and so it was actually a really cool moment and I I'm super happy to have taken that away shout out to that guy and to the r blue but now we're starting to talk about our decadence recap and uh Ben you only really got to go to one day so we have to save your recap uh for after Chris because Chris he's going to he's going to tell us about both of his days well first like I had to meet our W right so like I am just a young grasshopper of a w and you know W episode two guest you know eyes so I had to go meet up with you know my master as a Padawan does and you know you carry on and we got there real early right and so being who he is Jeremy look goes around meets everybody introduces you to a million people and like hey some of those people turns out you don't even know till after the fact but like oh hey they're about to go play on the main stage here in 20 minutes wow that's really cool um so really right I'm trying to remember who like my all my picks were but I think I had to decide between Dom DOA and space laes and thankfully I don't even remember what the line up exactly was that day or the timing of it was that day but it lined up so well I was able to see pieces of both right nice so I remember vibing out to D doala and having a great time and getting down with our funky house selves right like having fun your your funky house self let's hold on I we need to clarify for the listeners your funky house self I'm I support you everybody I support you brother it's okay I'm here for you you know every now and again there is a DJ who is capable of turning up the Basse and some house music have you seen this this rare rare occurrence before oh yeah that rare I throw some shade on house right because I'm I I just love my base but I know you do it's fine I like our dance house music though and it makes me happy I'm glad it makes you happy we're now that we have establish this continue to tell us about your Dom dollar fantasies oh my gosh turns out yeah I guess like I wouldn't say I chose Dom DOA over space yeah he chose I didn't have to it's true we did actually have a little segment about that in the last cast on Space we did so that's the whole call back right so if you didn't listen to it go back an episode and this will all make sense um I think it was day two we reserved the nipple pinching for so we'll get there we'll talk about that but honestly it was what it was Dom DOA uh dead mouse right dead mouse fuing amazing right and like Ben was there day one and that I mean also there was Eric right and we'll talk more about Eric being there as well but dead mouse is somebody I've never seen before live perform you know Ben I don't believe has um and you know obviously someone who's been around how can I respectfully say this a while I suppose right someone senior in their class maybe maybe a second year senior but that's okay we appreciate that um and like the confidence and skill set that comes after years and years of wearing that helmet like yeah [ __ ] that put that thing right there on the deck next you and just keep rolling I get it I'm sure it's very hot I am the flanch to your Dorothy in this I am definitely the younger of us in this mentality so I just want to throw that out there real quick no but I mean who else was there so all right so we've named a lot of names and we can stop any what you know uh excision amazing right like absolutely like uh did he cap off the night I'm trying to remember it was you know he was the absolutely amazing um and of course woolly right we talked about woolly briefly uh hopefully the woolly dance will make it in here somewhere and I'm just going to keep referencing it so it can't be cut out well they can see the reference they don't have to see the dance as the editor I'm saying this out loud you are the wizard um so I had an amazing time I trying to think as well back to that day and I think um oh we synced up with our local friend lier guide lier guide played day one right lier guide is the best man talk about good people we had so much fun with lier guide and like look drove like down to Tucson picked him up drove them back hung out with lier guide because like they knew each other and they're homies and man we had so much fun that guy crushed it at the silent disco quiet quarters I believe is what the proper name of it was there at decadence Arizona and man like absolutely each what was it three different colors for three DJs Ben yeah red green blue he had blue yep and first of all like props to you and absolutely like he gave you all the shouts out along after along the way after that night um because you definitely came in like a [ __ ] superhero you came in at a moment where his headphones that he was given or had like didn't sink to the deck or whatever it was right and so suddenly he found himself like doing his thing and he was doing it he was holding it down but real quick he was like oh no this is not working you like you saw it like you saw the the eyes the something and quickly you just handed over the ones you had because they were blue they were sync to you know his station I guess um and yeah man you crushed it I have to say though like he no hero about it like I could tell something was wrong because he pulled his headphones off and he was just going at it like he had a little bit of a look on his face and um you know looked at him and I just put it out and he put his hand out but honestly like he played about the first uh I don't know one or two minutes of his set without a headset because he was just kind of doing it so I didn't know if he was just in the groove or what was going on at first but he killed it like he could probably play that whole set without his headphones on and he would have absolutely like I'll talk about more in my little recap but definitely glad you called it out because honestly I don't think I've ever been to a silent disco I had more fun at like that was uh I got footage of it and there were dozens of people in that silent disco and they all had blue headphones at one point yeah it reminded me of Silicon Valley always blue all blue like they're all blue it was amazing that is an accomplishment for a DJ when you turn the whole crowd one color and the other DJ just looks at you and they're like what the hell bro it was all his energy like it was main stage energy like he absolutely just threw down and everyone just vibed with it nice bigger main stage it was bigger than main stage fear energy I gotta say like I can only think on a on one hand how many DJs I've seen that have put so much energy into a set he was just on one that night and it was it was incredible I told him afterwards I'm like don't you ever change a godd dang thing like however big you get play music like that because that was amazing so it was a great time it was a really fun time um yeah gosh I'm trying to think of any other notable moments from day one what else happened that I'm definitely forgetting and with good reason I think we should pass it over to Ben and let him give us his end of the recap oh gosh well okay so to uh to Chris's Point like definitely lier guide like that was a big surprise we went over there you know definitely want to support the local guys and you know give our love to this community that has really take us taken us in and so um we've done a couple of silent discos and that that has to be my favorite and I love everybody I love all our DJs they're amazing uh but that was just fun uh it was such a good time um honestly like that was my second highlight of the the time that I was at decadence with the the highest point being dead mouse so when when you're when you're in company with dead mouse you know you're AOK in my book so just to recap dead mouse was your number one for the day yeah about you Chris w w yes yeah like so I'm gonna have to learn the dance I'll teach you the Wily dance we'll show everyone if we're not going to show it this time just stick around folks like And subscribe we'll show you the woly dance it'll happen you guys will get some video of it it'll show up on our Instagram reals or stories or something there you go there you go and here's the ultimate right is one day I get to show woolly The Woolly dance and then get him to do it with me top tier will there you go there you go all you know what let's clip it tag it let's make it happen awesome so what was yours o um woolly was definitely my number one there's I was there for woly like I literally I bought those tickets and was like I'm going to a woly concert right like this was a big deal for me um he's been on my dance card for a long time on that hit list you know as soon as he started dropping songs I was just like I I love you I love you willly um but excision came a very very close second um but we'll talk about that in my recap I don't want to interrupt Ben I just was curious if you had the same number one I mean I gotta say like uh I probably called it at least once in our different podcast but like I'm from Miami so anybody from Miami area they know house music uh that's near and dear to our heart Arts that's uh that's what we grow up on we we cut our teeth on Ultra so you know house music's everything um but yeah uh I love dubstep I love all the Bass music as well but dead mouse has been god um one of my favorite uh DJs and one of my wife's favorite DJs for two decades yeah so finally getting to see him live was just epic it was an amazing time um I love decadence as a whole it as my first decad so just the the entire setup the laser displays the way that they had the um I don't even know what to call those structures they built but essentially like the wet looking ones no the the blimp container things that they built for the stages like look like something out of Rocketeer um but uh you know it was it was just an amazing time uh Eric as I call out earlier he uh came down from Seattle um he's done lots of traveling all around the world uh in and out of EDM so you know something he's definitely familiar with and um you know he's been to Raves and all it's been a minute but he had a blast uh he loved it he's also old time dead mouse fan and uh getting to see dead mouse he was really surprised and that was actually who he was I based on conversation we had who he was most surprised uh and excited to see so uh it was incredible woolly was amazing amazing though uh I mean there was not a bad set visual yeah everything was great I was definitely bum I think the the probably the thing I was most sad about was not getting to see Zed's Dead like Zed Dead's one of top DJs ever uh but I have plans to go to something he's all over the place place this year so I definitely plan on hunting him down and and going to something that he does uh but it it was a great night it was just tremendous fun definitely love the way that uh decadence was laid out so uh I just the stages the way they had it all set up it was very easy to navigate and maneuver through so it was a blast great great environment awesome I agree I had an absolute good time and The Vibes were you know their decadence man people literally come from all over it's you know we have a lot of local festivals we have like Phoenix Lights right which is like quintessent Arizona because of our alien Motif we love and we have some really good festivals but decadence is the one where people want to do something extraordinary for New Year's Eve and so they come to Arizona to go to decadence um and this would being my second decadence it was awesome it certainly was very different than last year but not in a bad way just in a hey thank you for changing it up kind of way um I got there just in time for the jiter jester I'm dyslexic can't say his name um backtack was nostalgics and she I I already saw her at the sunbar I saw her last year at Gold Rush like I absolutely love her music she has so much power and like so many anthems and so uh getting to see her again and then on the same stage right after was Troy Boy and um I saw Troy Boy before Rez at the um res show this year the Raceway and I was you know curious how different his that's where and they were like day and night different and it was wild because you know you go and almost have an expectation of what you think the DJ is going to be like and they turn it on your head and when he opened up for Rez it was a lot more like dubstep and wubby and like you know a lot of those vibes but for decadence it was like a lot more trappy and you know very you know dance related and there was a lot of sexy Vibes going on and I was like man it's a very very different show uh and the visuals were incredible stage um and then took a little break I I was kind of sad to not get uh the Takami XA back to back but uh I needed a little break before bully because I knew I was going to just basically throw myself at that crowd and that you know the set did not disappoint it was incredible visuals he played so many of his hits and he has a way of uh some of the best right where they'll take you into a song and they take you on the roller coaster and they play a hit or something that you Vibe with but then he has like The Woolly sound like this just and he like Clips it in between the songs so it's seamless it's just like song W song song and that keeps you just energetic in Adrenaline fied the whole time and the crowd there was just super cool everybody gave lots of space was letting people through and like crowd Vibes matter a lot to me it's like you could have the best set in the world if the crowd sucks you've ruined their set but if the crowd is amazing you could be an okay DJ and I'm going to have the best time ever because of like how people were and we met lots of cool people in that crowd who were just like you like this music I like this music um and that's half the reason to go is like connecting with other adults who are maybe not even at the same level you are in Life or age or anything and having this connection where you're instantly like did we just become best friends uh and so I love that about the music scene woolly having his like cut into de uh dead mouse was a big like Conflict for me I'm actually really mad at decadence for this one I'm like how how on and I get they want somebody to pull heat off Main stage right if dead mouse is going to be on Main stage they don't want everybody to pack main stage and there not be any room and I I've experienced events like that before but having the overlap there killed me bro I was just like I've been waiting so long to see dead mouse but I well he's my jam man I can't miss it so I saw Olive wiie set and then like we sprinted over to catch the end of dead mouse and it was great like every every minute of it I walked up and was just like and here I am for the next one and in total Elation um we took a little bit of a break between like the Dom doll of sudden death cuz half of my crew went to sudden death and the other half went to DOA and we kind of did a little bit of both but not a whole lot of either um because I knew excision was coming up and then talk about another set that I was just like I had an excision Jersey on man and I was uh full on just like I know this song oh then they mix it with this song and then he put this drop in it and uh he's one of those who he's a performer to all the lasers all the like feels he just coaxes out of the audience hypnotism almost I gotta say that the first night uh when we finally got to coordinate with you guys and meet up with you over in the uh the main tent area I'm forgetting the name of what it was called but yeah the bazaar bizaar yeah the bizaar uh and we got to catch up with you guys over there that was really cool like I I love the way that was set up I led just being a to plop down sit down and catch up and talk um yeah it was it was just a really great Vibe I I love the way they had it set up and so uh it also just awesome to see you guys in the middle of that and and whatnot in our element yeah exactly exactly yeah absolutely well and what was it they had an arcade in one corner there was actually a DJ DJ stage there as well right um the arcade was sponsored by R Who oh level one that's right that's right wasn't there a beer there though as well I think ranger might have been a part of that as well I think you're right but level one was made one yeah it was very cool it was awesome and you know I just wanted to also Circle back and say that uh you had called out like your favorite um Candy that you've gotten and we met early on in the night with h Maggie and you remember Maggie Chris I do I do she gave us squishies and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a um oh God I'm drawing a blank on the name it's the rice roll that has the piece of seaweed around it uh musabi it's with like spam and all that uh so real popular in like Hawaii and stuff mitsui muui thank you I got little popcorn oh you got a popcorn okay mine looks like a little piece of like rice with uh sushi around it or with seaweed around it but anyways uh I have several pieces of candy I love them um I have my bracelets and all but for some reason this squishy I just absolutely love this thing and I have it by my bathroom mirror right where I brush my teeth every morning so it's one of the first things I see morning as I'm brushing my teeth and all so for whatever reason I have absolutely connected to that little piece of you know squishy candy and that's the definitely one of my favorite pieces that I've ever gotten she's so sweet really awesome that's half the reason too is not just the fact that you get to have this moment with somebody but they take that little piece uh away with them you know they go home and they put it on their shelf and they look at it and they recall that memory and it it's part of the magic of the community of uh Festival goers but it's also just one of the coolest things as an adult to like you know there are so many times we go out in life and then it just becomes a memory and it's it gets harder and harder to hold on to but you walk away from a rave with a treasure Trove of reminders of just how incredible that time was I have to say like my my favorite you're doing it right it's true and that's like one of my favorite stories from decadence is uh I was wearing my KU uh sweater I have it's tie and uh out of all the possibilities out of all the universes uh one guy was dressed like the Ryan goling like top tier uh kin where he had the bandana on the fur coat the whole thing and I'd seen him a couple times through the night you know he was always just caught my AUD cool you know just cool dress up and everything uh during the I want to say it was the dead mouse set actually which I was like in my totally focused on the stage listening to every core just really into it he uh comes through and he walks in front of me and he gets right in front of me he turns and he stares at me and he looks at my sweater and he goes that's me and he just comes over gives me he gives me a big hug and you know just like way to go and high five and then goes on his way uh but it's that kind of thing like I how you take that energy and how you take those fun any from 30 second act interactions to 30 minutes or more but just these moments that you share with people uh it is just one of the most amazing things about all these kind of like concerts and festivals and these experiences and so um you know definitely if people that are listening to this have never been to one of these highly suggest it it's it is lifegiving if you're listening to Rave daddy episode 5 and you haven't been to a festival yet press the pause button go download the Teddy app and go get some concert tickets just stop listening to me talk right now go listen to some music and feel you know like the feel the vibe you got this I believe this could also be the only other exception so I'll go hi Mom if you're watching that's Mom you deserve those concert tickets too you you just go right ahead you do that's right you B yourself though mom I met your mom your mom would ra your mom would totally get down with some Dead Mouse I think she could with some dead mouse yeah and honestly I think she could have also like held her own that day two for some doggy dog I think some really doggy dog would probably out a lot of emotions and pent up energy so well now we're talking about day two that is a perfect segue um so let's do a quick recap I don't want to get too deep into the Weeds on the recap because we're going to end it out with a couple fun questions uh and say good night to everybody or good morning or good afternoon or whatever wherever you're enjoying us from good day so day two recap Chris day two recap well I you know what I would be totally remiss if I did not mention day two right so day one I walk through security I am bestowed the wonderful Cappy pearler day two I'm all alone my co-founder is not there our other engineer not there I am also the first one there besides wook who is past security of course because he's the man who you know he has a staff badge or passer you know the cool King ra for nothing man the king Rave band that rules them off so the really really really uh sweet lady at security though uh gave me a little Donald Duck sticker you got something from security I got usually it goes the other way around she was so sweet oh yeah it was awesome no you've definitely like you have your tips and if they haven't been shared here or maybe they have in a previous episode people can go find them but yeah just be nice to security make life easy on staff right like there's no reason to be difficult and if you ask people or just start with hi how you doing today I hope you have a great day it goes so far some people are actually legitimately shocked when you actually ask them how are you it's amazing the responses you get oh yeah I always plan to bring special loot for any Festival workers just because I grew up working the Campfield fairgrounds in Ohio as a kid and I started picking up and then work my way into the events and continue to work my way up and I know how hard and thankless those jobs are especially on Festival night when there's literally like 150,000 people and as soon as you pick up one piece of trash there's like 10 more dropped right in front of you and so anytime I see somebody walk by with a broom and a dust pan I'm GNA give him a candy anytime I meet somebody at security I'm gonna give them a runstone like I'm going to give them something just so that they get that moment because you know it's tough out there and people should certainly be thankful for the people who are giving up their night so that we can have an amazing one absolutely and she was she was so sweet and it was the first interaction I had after completing the Relentless beats Ninja Warrior Gauntlet it's like a a badge you see you collected the Daffy tuck badge that's right it is Donald Duck sir oh my apologies know your Ducks hashtag noou Ducks hash Howard the Duck right here baby oh jeez that's a whole another thing um so day two was amazing honestly like that started um like that set the bar right and it maintained that way and frankly uh it turns out when I may not be partnered up with maybe my co-founder or other people or friends well it turns out I've taken on this wook mentality to life or King Rave mentality to real life which is yeah why stay put in one place for any like more than 10 seconds because there's so to see and there's so many people to meet that is true he's just leaning into his real like o shiny syndrome that he really had that is very very true it's very true honestly like well I had no one there to really like well okay so I met up with wook I met up with lier guide but that even took a while right so of course the day just started with like oo look at my sticker and I had to make sure to not lose that right so I quickly Stow that away no Ben you're 100% right on the I I saw I linked up with him that day we went to get food and I I was like hey man I'm going to go get a table and I turn around and I walk over the table and I turn back around and he's gone and I I walk over to the food thing and I'm like Chris you have no idea how many tables there are bro dude we were like the first one like if you look left right from where we were standing there's one table that's in front of the rest of them and I was at that table wearing pink and blue in fact I was wearing this hoodie how did you miss me so sorry I'm like Lander I only turn [Laughter] right any yeah so I had an amazing time like I was just on the move but really I was moving also between sets that I really really really wanted to see and so definitely I I hooked up with W I hooked up with lier guide ran around met wonderful people met folks who were running some of the merchant areas there and then ran my way over to Doggy Dog like been wanting to see Crank That for so long like hey if I need to crank that right at 10 like back to back hell yeah like bring it on um and it was amazing I had so much fun and of course like you know one of the highlights of that was my favorite variation of like jackpot but of course like is this the jackpot to you know IND dollar whatever that is um so I like it yeah bring on the downfall of society through the jackpot for everyone nice um go yeah no you're good day one uh is always like the I go so hard and and that was not an exception this year or last year I threw it all out there and I always feel like I'm going to die on the second day and I I didn't die but we take a much slower Pace right we know that we're going to be there for the ball drop and um so got there a little later this time and kind of you know took some time taking P taking pictures and seeing like bizaar and stuff uh but Zed's Dead was one of those sets that I have again just waited for I talked a little bit about it in the previous segment with skyly but basically like there are some sets I won't even pick my phone up for you could literally be dying I'm sorry you sent an SOS during said's dead but guess what you're dead now because of it right have to think about how to solve this from a feature perspective but continue that was my FR in set last year I I totally understand that Fred again 100% I don't even like I'm so glad that my wife was taking video cuz I didn't take hardly any man I was just in the zone there's so many songs and from Zed's Dead's playlist where it's like this is in my workout Jam this is in my like working at home jam this is in my like playlist that I listen to in the car and hearing them live in the best sound system uh they did not disappoint it was just like hit after hit after hit and the crowd was incredible given lots of space we met lots of cool like vibing people and and after that there are a lot of great sets but we just kind of like coasted you know we got food we went and took some more pictures but we met up with some of our friends and man if they had the Rave Daddy they probably still would have been dead but they might have at least been able to get my attention because like at the whole time Z's Dead's going on Claire is like hey hey our friends are trying to find us they're trying to contact us turn your light on and I was like I can't hear the the really loud music right like I I they could be the president trying to find me he's going to have to wait till after Z's dead so right after Zed's Dead we go to the bazaar and we missed each other by a minute like they left to go to the restrooms and food and stuff before their next set but we said hey I'm gonna be there at 8:20 because Z you know wly set I mean excuse me Zed's Dead Set ends exactly this time we're going to be there and so we waited in the bazaar for a while for them to come back and we finally got to link up with them and have our photo op and right after that Crank that backto back Riot and for dog eat dog was incredible I I saw crank D open up for lennium earlier this year at earlier last year at rawhyde and that was actually my first introduction to crank D L I did not know how hard he goes I was like man he is insanely good and like so I knew yeah I knew like that was a set that I was like I was super excited for um and I was actually shocked that there and I knew a lot of people were going to go to John Summit and the ball drop and the main stage with the balloons and the confetti and the air cannons and sadly for whatever reason they're like only one stage gets the air cannons stage two just lasers right it was the quietest ball drop I've ever seen in my life I was exp a firework or something not a one but the music certainly made up for it cuz man they brought it all the way into the New Year all the way super hard um and then that was kind of the end of the night for us like uh the first night we ended up getting stuck in the parking lot I think you did too Chris till like 4:30 in the morning it was nuts like traffic was Cars weren't even moving for like the first hour after the event and so we were like not gonna do that a second day um and I'm sad to have missed like hole and some of the other ones at the end but a two-day Festival is already a lot of like running around and coordinating and stuff I was I I lost my voice I caught pneumonia shortly after that's how hard it was for me U I'm only still recovered barely just so we could record this episode the old W flu got you in all of its varieties but it happens you know what and it's worth the fun and you recovered you'll live to see another day and if you don't if we're at Zed's Dead and you hit SOS oh man you know it's over for you best of luck that was also the same set where somebody was behind me and they were just like oh my gosh and it was definitely like it wasn't just for fun right because sometimes like that's like a it was more like hey you need a fan and I have a bunch of these and so thanks to our buddy at R circus Nathan he gave us to give out and so we gave out those and she was incredibly thankful we also had like coupons so like go visit R circus because he also like it's a wonderful shop I saw neon had a post up the other day and he was there uh hanging out folks and signing posters and stuff and then of course like you know get all your swag that's where this dope shirt came from pause the video look at the shirt it has a billion things on it so I think that is a wonderful recap and a way a great way to segue us towards the end of this uh episode which is um that connection to our shoutouts and all the people that we met and all the great people who have been involved with Rave daddy with ready VIP so far um we've got more coming up there are a laundry list of people who have volunteered for whatever reason I don't know this is you know super awesome though that they want to come and hang out with us and talk about what's going on with them and even the guy who made the pearlers here we might have him on if we can sneak him on talk about these awesome pearlers um and so if you're listening and you think that's me I would like to be on Rave Daddy I want to be a VIP reach out to us Instagram Facebook email and say hey where's that sign up link and we'll get it out to you because we want to give the community a platform to be involved to be seen and to be heard uh because it is 100% about being able to bring people together because ultimately that's what a rave Daddy's responsibility is and that is what the app does for us is it is our Rave daddy so Chris Ben uh one of the things I like to do is always end with something fun and interesting question something a little cooky and I want to hear one thing that you guys both are going to put on your bingo checklist for 2025 Raves and festivals it could be a show it could be finding where's Waldo I found him at like decadence two years in a row Gold Rush two years in a row I almost hate to break the streak right that's on my my checklist so what is your 2025 Bingo Square Ben oh man uh put him on a spot right now I would say there are so many aspects it's funny because my daughter actually created a bingo list for 2025 I was like that's a really great idea and I totally stole it and uh baby girl if you're watching this awesome idea um quite literally there was a couple of different festivals I put on there I'd say one of them is I'm really uh putting it out to the universe I want to go to ultra this year uh as almost every house DJ that I love with all the deepest passion in my heart so I really uh I want to go home I want to go see my people I want to go to ultra and uh hit it up so I would say that's my my bucket list or my go card for this year okay okay be absorbed into the house exactly exact in the ocean just right Perfect Place between both definitely how about you Chris called E's like I'm going to the complete opposite Coast the other side of the music Spectrum all the base what's on your bingo card on my bingo card is a lot and B some of these things and some of them are absolutely yeah so I'll Focus the festivals and I guess I'll even stay I'll keep my dreams confined I opposed to the continental US uh I want to go to EDC Orlando amazing EDC Orlando uh I've never been to an EDC before and so going to EDC Orlando especially if we were to do it as partners of some kind would be amazing um but also like I would also just happily like buy a ticket and go just as a ga person and have a wonderful experience and yes it would even take us back a little bit towards we Ben like oh home for Ben good old Florida so it can be that but also it's in November right around where this guy you know another birthday another trip around so yeah it' be an awesome experience heck yeah man that sounds like a good experience EDC Orlando was some high high uh Aim so I I can dig it um I would I would love an EDC but you know unless I win some tickets or something like there's so we we live in one of the meccas for festivals like I'm I'm going to be hard pressed to leave although Ben and I were talking a little bit about some marshmallow in Vegas and wooo that might happen um so my dance card is pretty you know it's already getting pretty full right in beginning of the year we've got champagne drip and then I've got level up right after that and then we got Cyclops desert so I'm going to keep it to just what we got going on in the near future I would love that so I got these amazing eyeball straws right I got like 35 of them uh they are 1997 eyeball St stws monster Cyclops straws and so on the episode before we go to Cyclops desert we're going to give out a secret password that is going to be used to obtain your cyclop straw so if you listen to our podcast and you want one of these and you go to Cyclops desert and you walk up to me and give me the password hey it's peaches right whenever you're G to get a straw and if not come prepared with like some sweet candy some swag the best Immaculate Vibes ever whatever it happens to be we'll work something out your way around the password yeah like bro what's the password they look at Chris and Ben and like peaches is it Peaches I guess you guessed it I don't know how that happened right um but I would love for 35 people to come out of the the crowd and know the password and every single one of them go to somebody who is just going to have an incredible time and I would love for one of those people to be subtronics I would I would I would love to give him a cyclops eye and we can do the woolly dance together and we will film it and that would be the first public appearance of The Woolly dance maybe that would be incredible woolly dance out there make sure everybody's ready for it it's it's a big one they got collabs man I'll just put their music in the background and and we're good oh yeah oh man you have to there has to be some transition you could do between like a Woolly and an excision kind of a you know you'll figure it out oh I have no doubt so with our parting shots done and all this has been one of the longest episodes ever uh with three segments and two music videos so would you gentlemen like to say roll the music did we do it better than next last time let's see one two roll the music shaking shaking speak we got the speaking song right now sh got the speak song [Applause]
