Ghidorah

Ghidorah is a Phoenix bass producer and DJ who took his name from kaiju cinema for a specific reason: the campy roars and stomps of old monster movies are, to his ear, the same territory experimental bass producers are working in now. He joined RDY VIP for the show's first Hot Ones-style episode, working through a party pack of wings and a last dab while tracing a fast three-year arc. Decadence 2023 was his first festival ever, house music was his way in, and he spent about a year DJing house under an alias named for Terpsichore, the Greek muse of dance, before winning the 2025 Goldrush DJ competition and playing the festival. Production came after that, through a mentorship, and at the time of recording he was roughly ten months into writing his own music. He talks through producing mostly in D minor, why a 15-minute competition set still has to be a journey rather than a highlight reel, the perfectionism that kept him from releasing anything for months after his first track, and the monthly release schedule he now holds himself to on the 27th. An Air Force veteran sitting opposite a veteran host, he also spends a long stretch on hearing protection, festival etiquette, and the fan clacker.
